BAPS promotes leadership skills and provides our Burmese
community and future leaders various networking opportunities with
Burmese American professionals who have much measureable success in
their respective profession. I joined BAPS not only because I wanted to
learn from these knowledgeable leaders but also to take active role to
contribute back to the very Burmese community. Our Burmese community, in
general, is underinformed and it is the responsibility of each and every
one of us to share and distribute our experience and knowledge. And BAPS
is there to strive for and accomplish this very mission.
Thet Zin Oo (IC Design Engineer @ Marvell)
I joined BAPS for one simple reason. Networking! I can
meet fellow professional who came from Burma. They are very
knowledgeable and expert in their professions. As the saying goes “It is
not what you know, it is who you know”. BAPS can expand my professional
network. Therefore, it will enhance my professional life and at the same
time having fun with people with similar background. I had a good time
joining BAPS professional and social events.
Peter (Software Engineer @ Sun)
A place full of professionals from whom you can learn
so much that you won't believe it; professionals who are so well
knowlegable about everything that they can just talk about anything
you name; but most importantly, hearty professionals, willing to share
their many years of experience, and reach out to and help out people
just like you and me. All I needed to join BAPS was my desire to
learn. -Lillian Tan @ Myat Myat Nwe (Developer @ Bea System)
I was one of the Myanmar students from City College of
San Francisco. I am currently studying Chemical Engineering at
University of California Los Angeles. I want to say "thank you, BAPS,"
for giving me and my colleagues opportunities to meet and network with
Burmese (Myanmar) Professional People. Hope BAPS continue helping all
upcoming Myanmar Generation.
Thanks Again.~ Zaw Thet Oo.
