SparkFactor Design is a product design consulting firm with offices in San Francisco and Palo Alto. We provide on-site and in-house ID, PD, ME, and interaction design services to clients throughout the bay area.
1- Product Designer/Mechanical Engineer, Full time Position:
Job summary:
Augment mechanical engineering teams on-site for variety
of clients in the South Bay area. Individual Projects range from 1 week to 6 months. =
Your role will change as needed for different clients & different phases in the product design cycle. You will work directly with our clients' Mechanical Engineers to design & document parts & assemblies. You will work on feasibility studies by coordinating prototype models & building design verification models. You will update production CAD designs & documentation as the product nears mass production. You will support Engineers in Asia to trouble shoot design problems. For the right candidate there is opportunity to manage more junior engineers & travel internationally (if desired). =
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Job Requirements:
2-8 years experience designing high
volume electronic consumer products. **Be prepared to show examples of your work** More than 2 years using UG, ProE, or Solidworks (UG preferred). Experience with part & assembly drawings. =
Experience designing engineering
feasibility study models.
Salary range of $57,000 to $82,000 depending on
experience & ability. Job includes benefits. =

Job summary:
In this position you will support a high energy fast
paced group of 5 engineers. They have quick product cycles & need support to
help design, document, & qualify new products being manufactured in Asia. This
group has shipped >5 million products in the last year. =
Your role will be flexible as needed for different
product design cycles. You will work directly with our clients' top notch
Mechanical Engineers to design & document parts. You will work on feasibility
studies by coordinating prototype models & building design verification models.
You will update production designs & documentation as the product nears mass
production. You will support Engineers in Asia to trouble shoot design problems.
International travel may be an option (if desired). =
This position will require on-site client support in the South Bay Area.
Job Requirements:
More than 4 years using UG, ProE, or Solidworks (UG preferred).
2-8 years experience designing high volume electronic consumer products.) **Be
prepared to show examples of your work** Experience making Part & Assembly
Drawings.
Experience designing injection molded
parts.
Experience designing metal parts a plus.
Job pay range from $40-$70/ hr DOE. =
